all projectsmcm creative has worked with the bp retail conference team to deliver two truly first-class conferences in 2022 and 2024. In 2024, bp sought to build on the success of their highly acclaimed 2022 conference with a fresh and engaging event at Celtic Manor. mcm was tasked with creating an inspiring environment and event programme for two distinct audience tracks, involving over 650 guests across five days.
the challenge
bp needed to create an impactful annual conference that would inspire, inform, and unify two distinct audience tracks. Each year, the challenge was to reimagine and transform the physical environment, ensuring maximum engagement and affinity with the conference theme. bp required a mix of keynotes, plenaries, and workshops to deliver their key messages effectively and generate actionable ideas.
the result
We conducted an in-depth analysis of the audience tracks and their needs, to tailor the strategy, ensuring high engagement and alignment with the “Together” theme in 2022, and “We are ready” in 2024. Collaborating with bp, we built out creative ideas, branding, scripts and content creation from discovery sessions. We created presentations and films which encapsulated bp’s business status, as well as conducting workshops to embed key messages.
mcm designed an energised agenda mixing keynote and plenary sessions with imaginative and engaging workshops. We ran content planning sessions with speakers to help bring key messages to life on the super wide LED screen which was part of an enhanced stage design with a central thrust stage for heightened audience interaction, along with innovative lighting and technical treatments.
Finally, we elevated the guest experience with a supplier expo showcasing bp’s partners, team build activities, and emotive experiences such as “A Night with the Stars,” where talented colleagues performed, creating meaningful, lasting memories.
The conference fostered a sense of unity and inspiration, creating a lasting impact and setting a new benchmark for future bp events.
